April 2006 To Do List:

  • Begin writing the ceremony program
  • Discuss and select ceremony music
  • Send rehearsal dinner invites
  • Order silk bouquets for female attendants
  • Ensure male attendants have boutonniere (Thanks Momma)
  • As we receive presents, record the gifts
  • Set aside some time to write thank-you notes for gifts received at the bridal shower
  • Work on a list of "must-play" (and "must-not play") songs for your DJ or band.


March 2006 To Do List:

  • Mail out Invitations
  • Groom get measured for tuxedo
  • Choose wedding cake design
  • Arrange wedding day transporation for us and wedding party
  • Buy gifts for female attendants
  • Buy gifts for male attendants
  • Purchase music for soloist at the ceremony


February 2006 To Do List:

  • Order Inivitations
  • Consider and decide on any ceremony decorations
  • Approve the center pieces design
  • Make or buy favors for reception
  • Get everything we need for international honeymoon (passports, etc.)
  • Consult with necessary individuals about party plans (shower and bachelor party)
  • Talk to people that we want to do special performance or reading at ceremony
  • Finalize menu and service details with caterer
  • Shop for and purchase wedding bands
  • Contact church about pre-martial facilitation sessions
  • Give male attendants necessary information so they can reserve attire

Winter 2005 To Do List:

  • Finish open fall items
  • Mail Save the Date magnets
  • Decide on a list of songs for important dances and send to DJ
  • Decide on design and wording for formal inivitations
  • Update website about ceremony time and registry items
  • Contact all female attendants and ensure they have ordered their attire
  • Start planning male attendants attire
  • Start planning the rehersal dinner
  • Book rehersal dinner site

September 2005 To Do List:

  • Finish open items from August 2005
  • Get input from bridesmaids and maid of honor on bridal attire/dresses
  • Select maid of honor, bridesmaids, hostesses and flowergirl dresses
  • Provide bridesmaids with local vendor information so they can get measured
  • Think about desired honeymoons locations
  • Think about hairstyle for the wedding
  • Contact hotels in Champaign about availability and pricing for hotel blocks (out of town guests)

August 2005 To Do List:

  • Purchase dividers for our big Wedding/Planner binder
  • Finalize color scheme
  • Request final lists from both sets of parents about their wish guest list
    • Still awaiting complete list including up to date addresses
  • Design a Save the Date magnet logo
  • Decide on caterer
  • Sign caterer contract
  • Start research on DJ and or bands
  • Discuss floral arrangements and florist options
  • Narrow down bride gown and make final decision
    • Gown purchased, only need to bring gown back 4 months before wedding for alterations
